Beginning on November 19th, Kyabje Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche led the inauguration, opening ceremonies and subsequent pujas for the wondrous Pal Thubten Shedrub Ling Monastery, or Thousand Buddha Temple, in Lumbini. The sacred site of Lumbini, the birth place of Shakyamuni Buddha, is one of the four great pilgrimage sites of all Buddhist traditions. Phakchok Rinpoche was among the other Rinpoches, Tulkus and lamas presiding over the ceremonies and pujas as well.
Encompassing the blessed day of Lhabab Duchen, the five days ceremonies, programs and blessings included Trinley Nyingpo Puja, Extensive Sang Offering and Fire Puja, Lama Norlha puja, Wisdom Rain of Virtuous Excellence Consecration Puja, Moon’s Amrita Cleansing Puja, Shakyamuni and the 16th Arhats puja, and concluded in a Thousand Buddhas Empowerment bestowed by Kyabje Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche.
