Samye Institute and The Samye New York Noble Living, Noble Caring, Noble Dying (NLNCND) team held their second live Zoom Medicine Buddha Practice and Teaching Event. Tulku Migmar explained how many different types of sickness arise based on the negative emotions. Tulku-la explained the origin of the Medicine Buddha practice and explained its relevance in this difficult time. This practice is very important in this degenerate time. In the practice itself, there are twelve types of aspirations that were made by Medicine Buddha. He said that when we read his name, or chant his mantra, or meditate and visualize his image, it will bring benefit and healing.
We can practice this on our own using the video image used during the practice, and following Tulku Migmar’s instructions on recollection and visualization. We can either focus on ourselves if we have a sickness, or we can focus on others. We can also do a simpler practice without reading the sadhana text—simply recalling the Medicine Buddha and his aspirations to benefit beings.
The next session will take place on Monday May 5th at 8 AM EST. Please join and also please remember to add your prayer requests by emailing NLNCND@samyeinstitute.org.
