A Simple Breathing Exercise: Part One

Description

In this video, Phakchok Rinpoche shows us a straightforward breathing exercise. When we do this breathing practice, we don’t need to think. We don’t involve ourselves in any concepts or worry about complex visualizations. Instead, we just focus on our breathing wholeheartedly, enjoying our breath. We can’t do this “wrong,” so we shouldn’t worry about trying to do this perfectly. When we just relax with our breath and enjoy the flow of our breath we will observe that our mind calms down. Consistent attention to this exercise for 10 minutes for a week can result in significant progress in the mind. Rinpoche recommends we start by practicing and gaining confidence. Then we can freely share this exercise with others, even in casual situations. Breathing correctly and enjoying that feeling can truly make a difference!
