From 6-12 November 2023, Phakchok Rinpoche, Lama Oser, and Dr. David Shlim concluded a six-day Medicine and Compassion in Kathmandu, Nepal. This was the first time the retreat was hosted in Nepal. The majority of medical professionals were from the US and countries other than Nepal. The retreat focused on supporting these doctors and professionals in understanding and taking steps to develop genuine compassion and promote compassion training in their workplaces as well.
The final day incorporated lessons and queries from, as well as dialogue with, allopathic and ayurvedic professionals in Nepal. Plans for the next retreat in Nepal are underway.
